Manipulating 3D Objects Using a 3D Monitor
Computer Vision

Project Description:

3D vision is an exponentially growing market, with a forecast that in the near future 3D gaming will move from being a novelty to a worldwide market. Another field which has caused great hype is Natural User Interface where humans control computers using hand gestures as commands.

In this project we will combine these fields by controlling 3D graphics projected on a 3D screen using hand motions. A Kinect camera will track the user's hand placed next to the screen and the hand motions will cause 3d graphics to change.

We will begin by a simple ball suspended in the air, and the hand motion will control the location of the ball. The next and more challenging step will be to be able to “draw” with the hand a three dimensional object and them manipulate its location and orientation all using hand motions.

Project Goal:

In this project we will develop and implement an application.
